Designed to Perform: Airtight, Watertight Access Panel

March 4, 2026

Maintaining a controlled environment requires equipment that can consistently perform. Our Airtight & Watertight access panel is built to deliver dependable air and water resistance for our customers. Constructed from galvannealed steel or stainless steel for rust prevention. The panel is designed with a pan style door for added strength and rigidity and includes gasketing on all four sides to help maintain a secure seal.

Ideal Applications (ceiling and wall installations)

  • Laboratories
  • Clean rooms
  • Operating rooms
  • Select exterior applications

Our Access Panel Has Been Tested up to a Max Size of 24″x36″ to Meet Industry Standards for Air Infiltration and Water Penetration Resistance:

  • ASTM E283
  • ASTM E331

What is an Air Infiltration Performance Test?

ASTM E283 Air Infiltration test measures the rate of air leakage under specific pressure differences. Measured in cubic feet per minute per square foot it will determine the amount of air that passes through the unit for energy efficiency. By testing units to this standard, it will prevent issues like energy loss, condensation and draftiness.

What is a Water Penetration Performance Test?

ASTM E331 Water Penetration test is used to determine a unit’s resistance to water leakage. The test consists of spraying water on the exterior of the unit at varying pressures for a period of up to 15 minutes. If no water leaks to the interior of the assembly the unit “passes” the test.

This is tested on exterior units subject to wind and rain but also is tested on interior units that may be in laboratories or operating rooms that get sprayed down and cleaned often.
